Im Sung-jae is looking to secure another appearance at the PGA Tour playoff finale. As he climbs up the FedEx Cup points standings throughout the summer, reaching the first two legs of the playoffs has become essential for him. This week, he aims to achieve one more push to reach the final tournament for the eighth consecutive year.

Currently, Im finds himself in 40th place in the standings, entering the BMW Championship in St. Louis. Only the top 30 players after this tournament qualify for the Tour Championship in Atlanta next week, which is the main event Im is eyeing.

Im expressed his determination during a video conference with South Korean media late Wednesday. He needs to at least tie for sixth place this week to secure a spot in the Tour Championship and is focused on achieving that goal. Im shared his strategy for the upcoming event at Bellerive Country Club, emphasizing the importance of keeping the ball in the fairway.

There are some holes with narrow fairways, but the greens are a bit soft, making it crucial for him to hit his second shots from the fairway effectively. If he can manage to do that, attacking pins should not be a significant challenge. His strategy hinges on maintaining this approach, as greens are expected to be soft at the course.
