Google’s working with your carrier to fix RCS in Messages

Android users have been encountering frustrating issues with Google Messages' RCS functionality. Despite receiving suggestions from users, many of the proposed fixes have not proven effective for everyone. In response, Google has confirmed that it is collaborating with carriers to develop a more robust solution. RCS, which stands for Rich Communication Services, is the next generation of text messaging, offering features that users have long desired, such as threading and reactions.

However, the complexity of RCS seems to have introduced some fragility, resulting in a series of glitches that have been reported with increasing frequency. One such issue recently involved error code 3100, which primarily affects users who are setting up new devices or switching carriers. Today, Google has provided an update on the progress being made to resolve these problems.

While previous solutions and workarounds have yielded success for some users, it became evident that the same approach did not work universally, especially considering the reliance of RCS on external systems.
