Google Offers College Students One Year Of Gemini AI Plans For Free

Google has announced a new free AI plan for eligible college students in the U.S. The plan, named Google AI Pro, is usually priced at US$19.99 per month (or RM97.99 in Malaysia) and includes 4x higher usage limits in Gemini, access to Gemini Spark, integrations in Google apps, 5TB of cloud storage, Google Health Premium, and more.

Eligible students outside the U.S. can apply for the Google AI Plus plan, which is a more restricted version of the AI Pro plan, priced at RM23.99 per month. In addition to the AI Pro offer, Google is also offering a heavily discounted bundle that includes Google AI Pro and a YouTube Premium subscription, with savings of up to 70%.

However, both versions of the plan include a catch - they will automatically renew at full price once the one-year free subscription period is over. To avoid unexpected charges, students are advised to set a reminder to cancel the subscription before the renewal date. Google has also launched a new Student Hub feature within the Gemini app, designed to help students stay organized, create flashcards, a study notebook, and take practice tests. The Student Hub can be accessed through the Google Blog.
