Gen Alpha rises, one school at a time
Inspired by Gen Z protests, students are now questioning their education leaders. Around 300 girls protested, forcing the administration to reconsider their school’s merger with a distant institution
On August 18, scores of girls from Ujjain’s Maharani Lakshmibai Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sarafa, celebrated their school being saved from being merged with another school. The girls were jubilant as they received assurance from the Madhya Pradesh government that their education would continue without interruption. Established in 1959, the school is situated near the renowned Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and primarily serves students from the surrounding rural areas.
