Galantas Gold receives final permit for Andacollo project in Chile

Chile's National Geology and Mining Service has granted Galantas Gold Corporation the final permit needed to resume operations at its Andacollo Gold Project. The approval allows the company to reactivate waste dumps at the Ripios Dumps VII, VIII, and IX facilities, which hold around 16.4 million tonnes of authorized capacity, or 81% of the total.

This approval extends the validity of the permit originally granted and authorizes continued operation under the previously approved mine design and safety conditions. The authorized operating period is four years, starting from the commencement of mineral extraction or when the remaining authorized tonnage is reached. Galantas has also received other key permitting approvals on August 6, 2026.

The company is currently focusing on engineering, procurement, infrastructure rehabilitation, contractor planning, and operational-readiness activities at the project, with a priority on local employment, contractor participation, training, and procurement opportunities in Andacollo. A decision on restarting production will depend on various factors, including technical, operational, and financial reviews, availability of financing, and formal approval by the board of directors.
