From shelter to snuggles: 20 rescued pups in Seoul seek loving homes

Seoul is actively seeking homes for 20 dogs that have been rescued and given a chance at a better life. These pups were taken in from a crowded and neglected situation where they were crammed together in poor conditions. Last month, on July 28, a joint operation between the city, local districts, and animal protection groups managed to rescue the dogs.

This rescue was necessary after uncontrolled breeding caused a caregiver to become overwhelmed, resulting in the animals suffering from neglect and complaints from nearby residents.

Right after their rescue, the dogs were given a thorough grooming and bath by volunteers from the Korean Kennel Club. They were then taken to veterinary clinics for comprehensive check-ups, medical care, and spaying or neutering procedures. Currently, out of the total 33 rescued dogs, 20 of them are receiving care at the Seoul Metropolitan Animal Welfare Support Center’s facilities in Mapo and Dongdaemun districts.

The rescued dogs are estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old. Specialists have been working to address the initial health issues they faced, such as malnutrition and skin problems. Despite their challenging beginnings, the staff at the Seoul Metropolitan Animal Welfare Support Center are optimistic about the dogs' prospects.
