Pawan Kalyan briefed officials on Thursday about the importance of a comprehensive action plan for the ICCC to monitor forest and wildlife activities.
The proposed centre would encompass forest mapping and digital surveillance of wildlife movements and forest operations. Mr. Kalyan highlighted that a team from Andhra Pradesh had recently examined the IT policies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), mobile applications, ICCC, and other systems used by the Karnataka Forest Department and had submitted a detailed report.
The ICCC is envisioned to serve as a centralized hub for managing various activities, including maintaining geo-spatial dashboards, conducting drone-based surveys, performing real-time analysis of wildlife populations through camera traps, tracking vehicles on forest routes, monitoring patrolling teams, detecting forest fires, and addressing human-wildlife conflicts.
Mr. Kalyan commended the success of the Karnataka Forest Department's e-Gastu mobile application and suggested that a similar application be developed for the State, to be integrated with the Forest Portal and Single Sign-On systems that are currently being implemented.
