First plug-in solar kits get regulatory green light in the UK ahead of legal lift-off on August 27 — and they'll start at £699

UKSOL has become the first solar company in the UK to achieve regulatory compliance for plug-in solar kits, with the first products set to launch on August 27. These home-use kits, which can be mounted on the ground or a wall, will be available at a starting price of £699. The UKSOL Plug-In Solar Pro Compact 460W Ground Mount Kit includes a single solar panel, while the Pro Duo 890W Ground Mount Kit contains two panels.

Hybrid mount kits, which can be placed on the ground or a wall, will become available in October 2026. All kits have met the required regulatory standards and are listed in the ENA Connect Direct plug-in solar device database. The kits come with an integrated ground-mounting frame, ballast tray, microinverter, and DC and AC cables, along with a smartphone app for system monitoring.

UKSOL CEO Andrew Moore emphasized the importance of safety, provenance, quality, and after-sales support for plug-in solar products.
