Education minister ‘very optimistic’ Ontario teacher negotiations won’t bring disruption

This central-local split issue has been forwarded to the Ontario Labour Relations Board, effectively putting a pause on the bargaining process. Schools are expected to reopen around Labour Day across the province, with the minister expressing confidence that the new school year will begin and conclude without any disruptions. He confirmed his preparations for potential escalation, including running commercials to convey his stance, acknowledging the unions have been advertising for months and will likely outspend the province.
