‘Economic warfare on an unprecedented scale’: Trump launches ‘most crushing’ operation against Iran

US President Donald Trump declared the "MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY" against Iran, unveiling a series of measures to isolate the nation economically and diplomatically. In a statement released on Wednesday, Trump contended that Iran had missed a significant opportunity for a deal during his presidency.

"No one has given the Islamic Republic of Iran a greater opportunity to make a Deal than me. TRAGICALLY, for them, they have failed to take it," he said. "Therefore, today, I am announcing the MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY!"

The president described the new campaign as "Economic Warfare and Isolation on an unprecedented scale," pointing out that Iran's traditional capabilities have already been severely weakened by the ongoing conflict. "Their navy is gone, their air force is destroyed, their military factories are now rubble, their currency is worthless, and their country is hanging by a thread," Trump stated.
