Dubai's new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum airport to get 50 km people mover system

Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport will soon see the installation of a 50-kilometre automated people mover (APM) system. This expansive network, developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), will connect nine stations throughout the airport campus, boasting 165 vehicles. The project, which is set to be completed by December 2031 ahead of the airport's opening in 2032, will be the world's largest airport APM system.

This move is part of Dubai's ongoing expansion of Al Maktoum International, a facility designed to handle 260 million passengers annually. The APM system, a collaboration between MHI, MHI Mobility Engineering Services, and Larsen & Toubro, will enhance passenger convenience, reduce travel times, and streamline airport operations.
