Bekas pegawai adat Sabah antara 4 direman kes rasuah jual tanah

PETALING JAYA: A former Sabah land officer among four individuals has been arrested by the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Agency (SPRM) on suspicion of requesting and receiving a bribe of around RM900,000 to assist in a land sale deal in the state. The arrest came after a request from the SPRM to the Keningau Magistrate Court. Four men aged between 30 and 60 were detained for seven days until Thursday, according to sources.

The detentions took place between 4 pm and 8 pm on Saturday when the suspects appeared at the SPRM Keningau office to provide statements.

Initial investigations revealed that all suspects were accused of committing the act in 2025. The former land officer and an administrative officer are believed to have received the bribe from two land brokers in exchange for helping facilitate the land sales they controlled. Initial findings show that the land involved in the transactions belonged to other individuals and had never been offered for sale.

Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah, the Director of SPRM Sabah, confirmed the arrest, stating that the case is being investigated under Sections 17 and 18 of the SPRM Act 2009.
