Bears coach Ben Johnson says Joe Burrow is 'like a surgeon back there'

Johnson declared, "He's like a surgeon back there, from my perspective at least." He highlighted Burrow's impressive pocket awareness, ability to dissect defenses quickly, and his knack for distributing the ball.

Johnson also emphasized Burrow's trust in the outside receivers, stating that the duo is currently the best in the business. The coach noted that this matchup will be a significant test for the Bears' defense, given their current coverage situation. Fellow Ohio State teammate J.T. Barrett chimed in, speaking highly of Burrow's character and shared history with the Bears.

Barrett, who served as the Bears' quarterbacks coach since 2025, had the chance to work with Burrow during their time together at Ohio State.
