Bandh call receives good response in Shikaripur, Shivamogga MP takes part in protest

On Wednesday, a bandh call was issued by Bajrang Dal activists in Shikaripur, condemning an attack on Hindutva activists. The attack occurred after a group of Hindutva activists allegedly chased a vehicle carrying stolen cattle from Hartalu village in Hosanagara taluk. The activists were chased by the vehicle, and a couple of them sustained injuries when the accused attacked them. In response, the local unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supported the protest.

B.Y. Raghavendra, MP for Shivamogga, joined the march organized in protest. He alleged that a network of individuals was involved in the illegal transportation of cattle in parts of Shivamogga district, and that the activists were attacked while trying to stop such activities. Raghavendra called for strict action against those involved and urged the police to curb illegal cattle transportation.

Other prominent figures who participated in the protest included former chairman of the Malnad Area Development Authority, K.S. Gurumurthy, and Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders Rajesh Gowda and Pradeep.
