Anwar arah siasat potensi ketidakaturan dalam anak syarikat Khazanah

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim has directed a probe into potential financial irregularities within a Khazanah Nasional subsidiary, emphasizing that any governance lapses must be investigated regardless of the individual involved. This move came after Khazanah conducted a review of past operations, revealing uncertainties about the company's management dating back to 2012.

Prime Minister Anwar stated that the decision to probe is independent of the current chairman's position, asserting that any governance failures will be scrutinized. Khazanah announced that an inquiry into matters related to Xeraya Capital, its wholly-owned subsidiary established in 2012, has surfaced. This subsidiary manages Khazanah's investments in the life sciences sector.

In July 2026, Xeraya's Board of Directors will assess historical records for any improprieties requiring further examination, according to the statement. Anwar clarified that the probe into alleged misconduct allegations raised in the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Tabung Haji and Felda is not politically motivated. He stated that the police and the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission will determine whether an inquiry is necessary, and any wrongdoing accusations will be addressed by the Attorney General's office.

The authority to impose penalties lies with the judge, not the Prime Minister. Anwar emphasized that the government will not interfere in investigations or prosecutorial decisions, as they are the responsibilities of the enforcement agencies and the Attorney General's office.
