AirPods Pro 3 and more just got new firmware release in beta

Apple has released a new beta firmware today for developers, making it accessible to AirPods Pro 3 and select other models. This development comes ahead of iOS 27's launch next month, as Apple continues to prepare new AirPods firmware for the upcoming iPhone release. The latest beta firmware build, 9A5347a, is now rolling out for AirPods Pro 3 models featuring an H2 chip.

This is just two weeks after Apple's previous firmware release, which carried build number 9A5336b. To opt-in for this beta firmware, users can access it through the AirPods settings screen. When iOS 27 arrives, it will introduce several new features for AirPods users, including some exclusive to AirPods Pro 3. The firmware update includes support for these new features, as well as other potential changes Apple has planned for AirPods.

It is speculated that Apple may unveil additional surprise features for AirPods at its September event, a tradition that has continued over the past two years. Apple announced a Live Translation feature for AirPods at the September event last year, and introduced new Hearing Health features the year prior.
