Adeleke visits Wike after meeting with Tinubu

On Thursday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as part of a series of consultations in Abuja following his re-election. Wike's media aide, Lere Olayinka, shared a photograph of the meeting, showing Adeleke shaking hands with the FCT minister, both holding the governor's certificate of return. Olayinka captioned the image, "Governor Ademola Adeleke visits the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike."

The visit followed a private meeting between Adeleke and President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa. Adeleke arrived in traditional attire at the Villa around 5:20-5:25 p.m., accompanied by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and several Osun State officials.

During the meeting, Adeleke presented his certificate of return and expressed gratitude for the August 15 governorship election's conduct. He secured 511,067 votes as an Accord Party candidate, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes. Adeleke won in 19 of the state's 30 local government areas.

After the meeting with Tinubu, Adeleke spoke to State House correspondents and commended the President for allowing the electoral process to run without interference. He emphasized that the visit was to thank Tinubu, whom he called the "father of the nation," for respecting the democratic process and ensuring free and fair elections. Adeleke stated that his visit was to ensure democracy's continuity in Nigeria.
