Academic who accused Jason Arday of plagiarism suspended

Nathan Cofnas, a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University, has been suspended by the institution for allegedly discriminating against the late Professor Jason Arday. According to Cofnas, he is currently under investigation for the same allegations. Cofnas, who advocates for race realism, expressed his suspension on X, stating that Ghent University will "almost certainly fire" him.

The university confirmed the suspension, noting that the death of Arday, who was a black professor at Cambridge, should prompt reflection, and that the institution opposes discrimination, hatred, and racism. The university also emphasized that while it supports academic freedom and open debate, this freedom comes with responsibility.
