Financial independence is a crucial factor in a woman's ability to break free from abusive relationships and control her own destiny. A woman without financial resources is frequently a woman devoid of power, choices, and the ability to escape dangerous situations. Financial dependence is often a tool used by abusers to exert control, monitoring bank accounts, discouraging employment, and sabotaging businesses.

Parents play a vital role in raising independent daughters.

Beyond material gifts, they should prioritize education, character development, and financial literacy. Teaching girls about the value of education, practical skills, and financial management equips them with the tools to stand on their own feet. Raising financially knowledgeable daughters empowers them to make informed decisions about their future and fosters a sense of self-worth.

Society must also play its part in supporting women's empowerment. Governments should invest in quality education for girls, expand vocational training opportunities, and enact robust laws to protect domestic violence survivors. Financial institutions must offer products that cater to women entrepreneurs, while employers must ensure equal opportunities for career advancement.

Communities need to shift their focus from questioning why a woman left to asking what support she requires to rebuild her life. No woman should endure a life where her spirit is crushed due to poverty stealing her choices. While money alone cannot guarantee happiness or genuine love, it provides the means to secure a safer environment, pay for necessities, and create space for healing.

Every girl deserves the opportunity to grow into a woman who understands that her future is not confined by dependence. Every woman deserves the freedom to choose peace over fear, dignity over abuse, and hope over helplessness. Financial independence empowers women with far more than just money; it grants them the power to shape their own lives.
