종합특검, 심우정 전 검찰총장·이창수 전 지검장 등 전·현직 검사 7명 무더기 기소

Seven current prosecutors, including former Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jin and former Seoul Central District Prosecutor Ichang Su, have been indicted on charges of abuse of power and corruption, according to a special investigation team. The investigation team accused Shim of failing to conduct crucial duties during the recent emergency special investigation unit deployments, while accusing Ichang of falsifying documents and creating false records in connection with the Dongcheon Motor stock manipulation case.

Kim Min-ju, a former prosecutor from Daejeon Central District, and Seo Min-seok, a former vice prosecutor II at Seoul Central District, were also indicted for misconduct and false document creation. The investigation team also indicted three prosecutors from Seoul Central District for abuse of authority and falsification of documents.

Former Prosecutor General Shim was charged with violating the statute of limitations when he reviewed the deployment of the special investigation unit under President Yu's order. He claimed that the indictment was a violation of due process and that he would publicize any future instances of illegal and unfair indictments by the special investigation team.
