4 Workers Killed by Train in Eastern Japan’s Tochigi Pref.

On Thursday, four workers tragically lost their lives after being struck by a train in Japan, according to authorities. This incident occurred at Shin-Kanuma Station, located north of Tokyo, reported the fire department. The fire department's official confirmed that all four workers had succumbed to their injuries, while an earlier statement from another official suggested that three workers were initially trapped beneath the train, with one person on the platform when emergency services arrived.

The first call to emergency services was made at 10:47am (01:47 GMT). Upon their arrival, responders discovered that all four victims were unconscious. They were subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. The workers were reported to have been engaged in the removal of weeds from the vicinity of the train tracks.
