25 Quintals Analogue Paneer Seized From Sehore Dairy During Late-Night FDA Inspection; False Labelling On Packets

On Wednesday night, approximately 25 quintals of counterfeit paneer were seized from Rudransh Dairy in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. The operation, conducted by a joint team from Bhopal Divisional Flying Squad and Sehore Food and Drug Administration, took place in Pachama village. This occurred just days after Chief Minister Mohan Yadav imposed a ban on the manufacture and sale of analogue paneer throughout Madhya Pradesh.

The raid was initiated following a complaint lodged with the Food Commissioner about the production of counterfeit and analogue paneer in Sehore. The Divisional Flying Squad In-charge, Pankaj Srivastava, revealed several irregularities in the dairy's production process. The seized paneer packets lacked any indication of the company or dairy name. Alongside the paneer, substantial quantities of salt and sugar were also discovered during the inspection.

It is worth noting that Rudransh Dairy had a history of producing substandard paneer despite a ban in place since August 12. This was the second raid within a week on the facility. Earlier, the Sehore FDA team had confiscated over 2 quintals of analogue paneer. Despite this previous action, the dairy continued to manufacture and sell analogue paneer and other substandard milk products in significant quantities.

The Food and Drug Administration conducted raids on Wednesday night across multiple locations, including Bhopal, Bhind, Ratlam, and Indore. They seized over 10,000 kilograms of analogue paneer, analogue khoya, and other substandard milk products. DK Verma, a senior food safety officer at the FDA, revealed that the department had seized a total of 10,464 kilograms of analogue paneer across the state following CM Yadav's announcement of the ban.
