World Photography Day: GVMC Commissioner inaugurates photo exhibition

On Wednesday, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg officially opened the photo exhibition "News in Frames" at the Visakha Museum in Visakhapatnam, coinciding with the 187th anniversary of photography's invention and World Photography Day. Garg toured the exhibition, examining various photographs on display. In a subsequent address to photojournalists, Garg emphasized the significance of capturing and preserving memories through photography, assuring the GVMC's ongoing support for the community.

The commissioner also honored photojournalists who recently won awards, including K.R. Deepak from The Hindu and V. Raju. Left-wing leaders like CPI State secretariat member J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy and numerous students also visited the exhibition, which will be open until August 20. World Photography Day was celebrated at Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan for the 18th consecutive year, with photographers B.K.

Agrawal, Anitha Mysore, and a photographer from a prominent Telugu daily present. A photography competition for students in grades IV to XII was held, with 453 students submitting approximately 1,250 photographs.
