Woman describes confronting man in Chucky-style mask who chased her
Police in Philadelphia are searching for a man they say chased at least a half dozen people last week within a half hour while wearing a Chucky-style mask.
A woman in Philadelphia recounted her harrowing experience with a man wearing a Chucky-style mask who threatened and pursued six people within a half-hour. Jameka Wilson explained that she decided to confront the assailant who had chased her. "I figured it was smart to turn around and face him," she recalled. She put her hands up and covered her face, stating, "I was like, OK, well, let's fight." Wilson told CBS News that she then kicked the man in the middle of the chest, causing him to stumble back before he fled.
Luanda Marinho also encountered the suspect while meeting a friend. The man repeatedly asked if they wanted to race him, to which none of them responded. Marinho found the situation peculiar. Another woman reported that the masked suspect asked her if she was ready to die while she was jogging. He chased her, confronted her, and asked the question twice.
She subsequently ran away from him and sustained injuries in the process. Captain Jason Smith of the Philadelphia Police Department confirmed that the suspect did not physically harm anyone, but emphasized that they were taking the incident very seriously and would find the individual. The suspect could face charges of terroristic threats, harassment, and intimidation.
