Lindsay Clancy has spent the majority of the past three years in medical and psychiatric facilities instead of a conventional prison. Following the tragic deaths of her three children in January 2023, she was initially treated at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Later, she was transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital for ongoing rehabilitation and medical care due to the severe spinal injury she sustained after jumping from her home's second-floor window.

In May 2023, Clancy was moved to Tewksbury State Hospital, a state-run facility in Massachusetts, where she has remained ever since, receiving mental health and medical care. Her current trial, which began in July 2026, sees her facing three first-degree murder charges for her children's deaths. While her defense argues that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible, prosecutors contend that she understood her actions and acted deliberately.

The case is currently in the defense phase, with the jury selection concluding earlier this month. Clancy, who has been paralyzed from the waist down since the incident, continues to receive mental health treatment at Tewksbury State Hospital under close supervision.
