UniMAP terus jadi pembekal bakat industri strategik

Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) continues to be a crucial provider of skilled talent for strategic industries, as almost 70% of its approximately 3,000 graduates annually join the electrical and electronics (E&E) and semiconductor sectors. Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, the chancellor of UniMAP, emphasized the need for graduates to be further equipped with knowledge, skills, and experience aligned with industry requirements, including international standards.

The chancellor stated that combining academic learning with real-world work experience is crucial to ensure graduates not only become ready for the workforce but also possess the competitiveness to meet future industry demands.

During the UniMAP Industry Eminence Awards 2026, held at the Iconic Marjorie Hotel in Nibong Tebal, Penang, Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, also a deputy chancellor of UniMAP, called for strengthened strategic partnerships between the industry and the university, particularly in areas that could contribute to national economic growth and technological development.

The event celebrated 31 strategic industry partners contributing to strengthening the institution's educational ecosystem, particularly in teaching and learning, student development, research, innovation, and commercialization. Recipients included multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and government agencies.

The awards also coincided with the celebration of UniMAP's 25th anniversary, marking the university's role in nurturing knowledge, talent, and technological and engineering innovations.
