Ukraine’s new defense minister says he already knows Russia’s strategy for fall and winter

Ukraine's new defense minister, Yevhenii Khmara, stated that he is already aware of Russia's planned strategy for the fall and winter. During his first speech, Khmara emphasized that he would continue his predecessor's approach of technologizing the army, focusing on updating and effectively using technology. He expressed the desire for more Ukrainian weapons and precise strikes.

Khmara also disclosed intelligence data suggesting Russia is preparing for another wave of mobilization, highlighting the need to enhance the Defense Forces' capabilities to counter this threat. The Ukrainian defense minister stated that Russia is waging aggressive warfare using treacherous and cruel methods, and they have knowledge of Russia's next steps, including potential offensive operations in the north of Ukraine.

Khmara outlined three priorities for his position: seizing the strategic initiative in all domains of war, ensuring timely delivery of weapons with transparent procurement procedures, and prioritizing human capital. He stressed the importance of seizing the strategic initiative across all aspects of warfare, improving information flow between the front and the ministry, and ensuring that the army receives necessary weapons in a timely manner.
