Thane District Achieves 100% Target In Special Intensive Electoral Roll Revision Drive, Covers 7.45 Million Voters

Thane District has successfully completed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program for the electoral roll, aiming to achieve 100% completion. This initiative, mandated by the Election Commission of India, involved door-to-door visits by Block Level Officers (BLOs) to collect filled Enumeration Forms (EFs) between June 30, 2026, and August 17, 2026.

Led by Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Shri Krishna Panchal and Deputy District Election Officer Vaishali Mane, the drive involved cooperation from municipal authorities, electoral registration officers, booth-level teams, political party representatives, and media outlets.

The primary goal of the SIR was to rectify errors in the voter list, ensure the inclusion of every eligible voter, and remove ineligible entries. Thane District administered 6,894 Booth Level Officers, who were provided with comprehensive field training. Additionally, 100% printing of Enumeration Forms was completed for all 7,450,515 registered voters in the district.

As the process progressed into the digital phase, 4,588,756 forms were digitized, accounting for 61.59% of the total forms completed. Ongoing monitoring by senior officials facilitated prompt resolution of field-level challenges, contributing to the overall success of the initiative. The administration's meticulous execution has earned praise across various administrative levels.
