Thai woman wakes to stranger trying to open hotel room door in Songkhla

A Thai woman experienced a startling incident at a hotel in Songkhla, Thailand, when a drunk man attempted to break into her room in the early hours of Monday, August 17. Concerned by the event, she shared the footage on TikTok. The hotel’s decision to provide a gift voucher for future accommodation as an apology sparked controversy on social media.

In the video, the man was seen struggling to open the door, which had a safety latch, but ultimately failed. The woman informed the male guest that she was still in the room, yet he persisted. She then contacted hotel staff, who escorted the man back to his own room. Upon learning that the intruder had reportedly knocked on other guests' doors, the woman expressed her concern and declined the hotel's offer of a free stay as compensation, opting instead to pursue legal action. The exact details of the case have not yet been made public.
