Refreshing summer showers resemble ‘flavor of the city’ in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam hosts three distinct national flags. In the southern city of Ho Chi Minh City, visitors can find three commemorative souvenirs shaped like their design and color. Ho Chi Minh, known as "Father of Vietnam" (1890-1969), officially declared the flag of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and the flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1976.

These three flags include the unified Vietnam Socialist Republic flag, the flag of the South Vietnamese Republic during the war, and the provisional revolutionary government of South Vietnam. Each flag has unique design elements, with the Socialist Republic flag featuring a sharp and altered star. The flag's design reflects Vietnam's turbulent history, being the central city of Hanoi when it was under French colonial rule for nearly a century.
