Sammy Ayeh not qualified to receive our petition – Persons with Disabilities Coalition

The Coalition of Unemployed Graduates with Disabilities has declined to hand over its petition to Presidential Staffer Dr. Samuel Ayeh, stating that he was not the right official to receive the document. The Coalition's Convener, Gilbert Boateng Agyare, argued that a senior government official with the power to take action on their concerns should receive the petition.

Agyare noted that the group had previously submitted several petitions to the government without seeing any meaningful progress. Dr. Ayeh, while respecting the decision, emphasized that he was acting on behalf of the President and was willing to meet the Coalition's demands. The Coalition had intended to picket at Jubilee House but was denied entry and relocated to Christ the King Church, where they continued their protest.

Since January, the Coalition has been demanding the implementation of a five percent employment quota for persons with disabilities in the public sector, accusing the government of failing to meet this commitment despite assurances.
