Sad, says Teresa after Hadi’s latest tirade against DAP

DAP MP Teresa Kok expressed disappointment at PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang persisting with his attacks against the DAP. Kuala Lumpur: Amidst recent claims by Hadi that the DAP glorifies the Malayan Communist Party (MCP) and that the proposed Urban Renewal Act is a strategy to displace poor Malays, Kok condemned his remarks as discriminatory.

Hadi alleged in a Facebook post that the DAP is supportive of the MCP's struggle against the Japanese during World War II, despite the British having supported the party during that time. The opposition party's support for the MCP saw many Malay soldiers and police officers lose their lives during the emergency period, Hadi claimed.

Kok, speaking after distributing Malaysian flags to residents in Bukit Jalil, found Hadi's continued attacks on the DAP "a bit sad," stating that the party is the Democratic Action Party and would never endorse a party with no assistance to them. She questioned Hadi's motives and the effectiveness of such statements in garnering votes for PAS in the upcoming election, asserting that they only serve to further divide Malaysia.

Kok urged government agencies, particularly those with close ties to the public, to maintain a stock of flags for handouts, as they can often be difficult to locate in stores.
