Rutschman hits 1st homer for Red Sox as Boston beats the Diamondbacks 9-4

Adley Rutschman of the Red Sox scored his first home run since joining the team in a trade-deadline deal, as the Boston team defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks with a score of 9-4 on Tuesday night. Ranger Suarez of the Diamondbacks pitched well, securing his first win since late June with a record of 5-3, having previously gone unbeaten in starts since Boston's 6-3 victory over Washington on June 29.

The Red Sox continued their strong performance from Monday's game, hitting 13 more times in the second night of the series. Eight players on the Red Sox contributed at least one hit, bolstering their recent winning streak to three games out of the last four. Gabriel Moreno of the Diamondbacks delivered a grand slam in the third inning, extending his hitting streak to a career-high 12 games.

The Diamondbacks are currently on a losing streak, having lost three consecutive games and five of their last seven. The absence of All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte, who has been placed on the restricted list, further impacted the Diamondbacks' performance. Rutschman's ninth home run of the season came in the fourth inning, as he hit a solo shot that tied the game at 4.

Mickey Gasper of the Red Sox added another home run and an RBI single in the seventh inning. Merrill Kelly of the Diamondbacks, on the other hand, allowed six runs, all earned, on seven hits and four walks in four-plus innings. The Diamondbacks will face Red Sox left-hander Payton Tolle (8-6, 2.97 ERA) in the final game of the three-game series on Wednesday.
