Rep helps family raise funds to fly home comatose patient from Istanbul

In a recent development, Bukit Gasing assemblyman R Rajiv is assisting a family in raising funds to transport their 52-year-old brother, Chin Yun Hin, who is in a coma, back to Malaysia after falling ill in Istanbul, Turkey. The incident occurred when Yun Hin, who was on his way back from England, developed a fever during transit.

Turkish doctors initially suspected a brain bleed, but further tests revealed a lung condition. Yun Hin was not permitted to fly home due to his condition and was placed on a ventilator, making a commercial flight impossible. He remains intubated and requires an air ambulance for transportation, which could cost between RM500,000 and RM700,000, not including additional hospital treatment and medication expenses in Turkey.

The family has approached the Malaysian embassy in Turkey for guidance, and they are now appealing for public donations to cover the costs. Bukit Gasing assemblyman R Rajiv has pledged RM2,000 to kick-start the fundraiser and is urging the public to contribute any amount they can, as the family has decided to organize a public fundraiser and is seeking support to make the air ambulance transfer and ongoing medical care possible.
