PETALING JAYA: Selangor Police seized around 600.3kg of various drugs, including 96.1kg of marijuana, 408.6kg of hashish and 87.9kg of heroin base, in a series of raids conducted between August 4 and Monday. Chief of Selangor Police, Shazeli Kahar, revealed that 12 suspects, between the ages of 22 and 54, were detained, including foreign nationals believed to be drug dealers.

The operation also exposed a network involved in the distribution of hashish and heroin around Ampang, according to Utusan Malaysia. "They were believed to have been lured with attractive job offers via WhatsApp and Telegram, and asked to deliver a container to a specific country," Shazeli explained. He added that one of the detained foreigners was caught attempting to smuggle 7.7kg of cocaine into the local market, which led to the revelation of drug trafficking in Ampang.

"Overall, the seized drugs included 96.1kg of marijuana, 408.6kg of hashish, 87.9kg of heroin base, and 7.7kg of cocaine," Shazeli reported. Police also seized a Toyota Hilux and a Honda City, along with RM2,704 in cash from the syndicate. Of the 12 suspects, three have already been charged in court under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while two others face charges under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
