PFIPC: ICPC uncovers multiple fake agencies as Tinubu orders forensic probe

President Bola Tinubu ordered a comprehensive forensic investigation into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal on Wednesday. The ICPC briefed State House correspondents on the findings of their work, uncovering multiple fake agencies under the PFIPC. The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, stated that the investigation would examine processes, procedures, and internal control weaknesses, as well as the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).

Oyedele revealed that the President's directive extended to IPPIS, as fake agencies likely indicate fake employees within the federal payroll. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, confirmed that the ICPC found more than the initially known fake council, with at least two additional fake agencies involved in the process.

Oyedele emphasized that the scandal likely predates the current administration, while Tinubu aims to prevent future occurrences by addressing administrative and accounting system weaknesses.
