Pakistan’s IT Exports Surge 18% to $417 Million in July

Pakistan's information technology (IT) and IT-enabled exports experienced a significant surge of 18 percent year over year, reaching $417 million in July 2026, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Technology exports accounted for approximately 45 percent of the country's total services exports for the month, making them the largest contributor among major services categories.

In total, services exports reached $927 million in July, up 27 percent from $728 million in the previous year. However, services exports declined marginally by 2 percent month over month, falling from $942 million in June.

The growth in IT exports encompasses earnings from freelancers, call centers, and telecom-related services. Other business services also recorded strong growth, increasing by 46 percent year over year to $218 million. Travel exports jumped a substantial 138 percent to $112 million, while transport services saw a 17 percent increase to $75 million.

Government goods and services exports rose by 5 percent year over year to $68 million. Conversely, other services categories, which include a diverse range of exports, declined by 24 percent to $37 million.
