In 2025, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) successfully saved an estimated GH¢5.73 billion for the Ghanaian state and secured seven convictions, according to the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition's (GACC) State of Corruption Report. The OSP initiated 71 investigations throughout the year, contributing to efforts to tackle corruption and corruption-related offences.
The report also highlighted the recovery of GH¢6.5 million and US$2 million, as well as the seizure of assets valued at over GH¢102 million. The GACC praised the OSP's achievements, stating that it is part of notable progress recorded by state accountability institutions in 2025. The OSP's mandate includes investigating and prosecuting corruption-related offences, recovering proceeds of corruption, and preventing financial losses to the state.
Despite these accomplishments, the GACC cautioned that corruption remains a persistent threat, with ongoing challenges in enforcement, implementation, political will, and sustainable funding undermining Ghana's fight against corruption.
