Notes With Dubai Transfer Details Seized From Pinarayi Vijayan's Daughter

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) announced the seizure of handwritten notes belonging to T. Veena, daughter of the Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan, concerning the transfer of ₹85 lakh to Dubai. The documents, discovered during a search on May 27, 2026, enumerated names, amounts, and expenses. The ED claimed the notes indicated Veena had received funds from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) without providing services.

Simultaneously, the agency alleges that Veena utilized a SIM card and a Wi-Fi router, obtained in another person's name, for internet-based communications. The evidence suggests that Veena managed funds exceeding her known income sources. The ED also pointed out that Veena's company, Exalogic Solutions Private Limited, received fraudulent payments of ₹2.78 crore from CMRL.

Additionally, the ED seized digital devices from Veena, including a photograph of a SIM card linked to a Wi-Fi router, potentially acquired through fraudulent means. The ED's investigation, supported by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office, uncovered fictitious cash expenditures of ₹182 crore by CMRL over 15 years, used to bribe various individuals, including Veena.

Exalogic Solutions Private Limited and Empower India Capital Investment Private Limited, operated by CMRL's MD, Sasidharan Kartha, are implicated in these fraudulent activities. KPCC president and Electricity Minister Sunny Joseph denounced the ED's claims, deeming them "extremely serious" and urging a response from Vijayan and the CPI(M).
