NDC: No primary produced Ossai as candidate – Enugu Secretary, Okafor rubbishes legal action

The Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State, Dr. Sebastine Okafor, has dismissed legal action filed by a factional candidate, Bishop Oscar Ossai, as futile. Okafor stated that Ossai cannot challenge what does not exist, as there was no primary election that produced him. He reiterated that the highest bidder obtained his name's publication by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Okafor expressed disappointment in the undemocratic practices within the party, which led to the ousting of democratically elected state executives. He praised the NDC's G80 aspirants for their pursuit of truth and democracy, emphasizing the importance of internal party democracy, transparency, and respect for member wishes for the party's relevance.
