Missing pilot found dead in submerged home-built plane in Ontario lake: OPP

A 73-year-old pilot disappeared from a flight in a home-built plane near Oshawa, Ontario, last week and was tragically found dead on Tuesday. The Ontario Provincial Police initiated a large-scale search operation after the aircraft failed to return from Oshawa Executive Airport at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Aircraft debris was recovered from Wolfe Lake in Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park on Monday, and forensic investigators confirmed the pilot's remains inside the submerged plane.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has dispatched an investigative team to Minden Hills to examine the incident involving the privately registered blue and yellow, home-built aircraft adorned with "FOFZ" markings on its tail.
