LG CNS plans to use the robot for guard and patrol duties at Tower Palace, a 263.7-meter-high, 55-story residential-commercial complex. The robot is 1.2 meters tall and weighs 25 kilograms. It is equipped with a high-performance 3D camera and can move at a speed of 3 kilometers per hour. The robot can also be remotely controlled. LG CNS plans to use the robot to check for fires and intruders, and to monitor whether residents are following building evacuation procedures. LG CNS expects that the quadruped robot will be able to move more easily in narrow spaces and climb stairs compared to existing two-legged robots. An official from LG CNS said, "We plan to verify the feasibility of using quadruped robots in real-life situations through this experiment." The experiment will run for a month starting from the 11th. If the experiment is successful, LG CNS plans to expand the use of quadruped robots to other buildings. LG CNS has already applied for a patent for the quadruped robot. The company is also in talks with several building owners to introduce the robot.
