Mahama is ‘clocking everywhere’ in his government – Osman Ayariga

National Youth Authority (NYA) CEO Osman Ayariga has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his administration's comprehensive approach to addressing issues affecting Ghanaian youth. Speaking at the National Youth Forum held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Ayariga highlighted the government's commitment to youth development through various initiatives.

He praised the creation of the Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment, as well as the implementation of programs aimed at equipping young people with essential skills and opportunities.

Ayariga detailed the progress of the National Apprenticeship Programme, which has exceeded its initial target of 10,000 beneficiaries and has now reached 14,000 individuals. Additionally, he emphasized the government's support for young entrepreneurs through engagements with the Ghana Revenue Authority. The CEO also noted the administration's focus on skills development, mentoring, standardization, and the creation of an enabling environment for young people to establish businesses and generate employment opportunities.

President Mahama's efforts in addressing youth concerns have been received positively, according to Ayariga. He remarked that the President "is 'clocking everywhere in his government," signifying the administration's attention to multiple areas of national development. Ayeriga urged stakeholders to continue investing in Ghana's young people, arguing that their empowerment today would fortify the country's economic and governance prospects in the future.
