Madrid’s Mourinho shrugs off Rodri miss after his move to Barcelona: ‘I don’t need Rodri’

José Mourinho remains confident that Real Madrid will thrive without Rodri, despite the club's unsuccessful attempt to secure the Spain captain's services. The club made a "very good offer" to attract Rodri to Madrid, but he expressed doubts about his future at the club. Mourinho, now back with Madrid for his second tenure, spoke with Rodri twice but felt that his doubts influenced the player's decision.

Mourinho emphasized that Real Madrid's stature means they cannot have players who are hesitant to commit to the club. He downplayed the significance of Rodri's departure, stating that the team possesses quality players and solutions to overcome any gaps left by the midfielder.
