London City 7s sign up Springbok-producing powerhouse varsity team

In less than a month, a South African varsity team, the University of Cape Town, will join Bordeaux at the London City 7s. This Saturday, the All Blacks will face South Africa at Ellis Park in Johannesburg for the first time in 30 years. With rugby fans eagerly awaiting the return of both national teams, Eddie Hearn's promotion of the tournament has fueled speculation about England's young stars turning to sevens rugby.

The University of Cape Town, led by rugby legend Robbie Fleck, will participate and feature over sixty Springboks in their history, including current professionals. The London City 7s, which begins on 17 September at the Honourable Artillery Company, features nine teams, including professional clubs and historic institutions, competing in three pools of three, leading directly into the knockout stages.

Accompanying the rugby tournament is a Sport x Business Conference hosted by Heather Fisher OLY and Jim Hamilton, bringing together city business leaders and sporting legends to discuss the impact of sports on the business world.
