LDA Approves Rs. 88.6 Billion Budget for 2026-27

The Lahore Development Authority's governing body has approved an Rs. 88.613 billion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, aiming for a revenue target of Rs. 47 billion. Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmad presided over the meeting, while Director General Tahir Farooq presented the agenda. The budget comprises Rs. 10 billion in Punjab government loans for road construction, Rs.

6.3 billion for Annual Development Programme schemes, and Rs. 12.5 billion for LDA City development. Sustainable development, urban regeneration, and LDA Avenue 1 were allocated Rs. 13.5 billion, Rs. 4 billion, and Rs. 3.5 billion, respectively. The authority also approved a pilot project for introducing maintenance charges and improved municipal services in specific areas, with these services being provided free for the initial two months.

The LDA plans to develop commercial plots along Ferozepur Road near Arfa Karim Tower for an upcoming Tech Park, and has allocated Rs. 100 million for child-friendly city initiatives in collaboration with UNICEF. The governing body noted that the LDA reached a record Rs. 32 billion in revenue during the previous financial year, marking the first time its revenue surpassed this amount.
