Kyle Shanahan Highlights Plan for 49ers Starters on Thursday
The San Francisco 49ers will take the field for their second preseason game on Thursday night, matching up against the Chargers.
The San Francisco 49ers are set to take the field for their second preseason game on Thursday against the Los Angeles Chargers. On Wednesday, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that several starters would participate in Thursday's match, a change from the team's preseason opener last Thursday where no starters played. Speaking to reporters, Shanahan stated that he had not yet revealed this plan to the starting players, who would learn about it soon.
He hinted that quarterback Brock Purdy is likely to play some part in the game. The 49ers will kick off against the Chargers at 10 p.m. ET. Following this, the team will play against the Las Vegas Raiders on August 27. Their regular-season opener will see them face the Los Angeles Rams on September 10.
