KP Considers Inter-District BRT Service on Motorway

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is contemplating the implementation of an inter-district BRT service on motorways, aiming to link Peshawar with various districts including Mardan, Nowshera, and Swat. Provincial government spokesperson disclosed that the proposed service would utilize the existing motorway network. The Transport Department intends to commission a feasibility study to evaluate the proposed service and ascertain its specifics.

This study will analyze the total expense, designated routes, placement of BRT stations, and other project aspects. Transport officials stated that the envisioned service would offer a convenient travel choice for numerous passengers journeying between Peshawar and other districts. They also mentioned that operating the BRT service via motorways would be simpler than using the GT Road, potentially streamlining travel between Peshawar and its neighboring districts.

The plan is still under evaluation, with the feasibility study anticipated to decide the routes, financial implications, and other necessities of the proposed inter-district BRT service.
