Inside Vivek Oberoi’s Mumbai home: Goan farmhouse charm and pet cow Kamadhenu

Vivek Oberoi has crafted a serene home in Mumbai that feels removed from the city's usual bustle. The residence, inspired by the charm of a Goan farmhouse, boasts antique furnishings, natural elements, greenery, and a pet cow named Kamadhenu.

In 2024, Vivek gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at his home through Urban Company's Reels to Rooms. The space reflects his personality and life with his wife, Priyanka Alva.

Upon entering, one is greeted by Kamadhenu, whose presence transforms the house into a village retreat. Vivek explains, "This is more her house than mine. The aroma of a cowshed gives you a feel that within this city, you are living in your own little village." He emphasizes that his home provides an escape from the superficial world of acting.

Vivek and Priyanka opted for wooden furnishings, ornate chandeliers, indoor plants, and a portrait of Goddess Lakshmi to create an earthy, lived-in aesthetic. Sustainability and their connection to Goa were also key factors in the design.

A vintage bed, passed down through Priyanka's family for generations, holds personal significance for Vivek. He fondly recalls sleeping in a similar bed as a four-year-old and feeling secure. The antique bed adds to the home's historical charm, while surrounding greenery keeps nature visible.

Large windows offer views of tall trees, blurring the line between indoors and outdoors. The backyard continues this theme with exposed pipes and an open tap. Vivek embraces these unconventional details, stating, "We like this quirkiness and madness."
