Hello World ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm Eugine Weks โ€” Full-Stack Engineer & Founder

Hey Dev Community! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm Eugine Weks , a full-stack developer and systems architect based in Kenya. I specialize in building high-performance web applications, resilient backend architectures, and database-driven software systems. Here is a quick look into my technical journey, what I'm studying, and the platforms I'm actively building. ๐ŸŽ“ Academic Background I am currently pursuing a Bachelorโ€ฆ

Hello Dev Community! I'm Eugine Weks, a full-stack developer and systems architect based in Kenya. My specialty lies in constructing high-performance web applications, robust backend architectures, and database-driven software systems. I'll share a snapshot of my technical journey, current studies, and the platforms I'm actively developing for.

Academically, I'm enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSc IT) program at Kibabii University. My coursework concentrates on cloud infrastructure, system security architecture, database management systems (DBMS), and software design principles. These areas provide a strong computer science foundation that directly informs my practical engineering work.

Among my key projects, Quantum Software Systems is at the core of my venture. Here, I specialize in designing and deploying modern software solutions tailored to businesses, institutions, and community platforms. My tech stack prioritizes efficiency and security, utilizing frontend technologies like React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3; backend and API technologies like Node.js, Python, and C++; and databases and infrastructure systems including PostgreSQL, Supabase, Redis, Docker, and Cloudflare Workers.

Another significant project is the Church Management Information System (CMIS) or CAP. This system is engineered to optimize operational workflows for faith-based communities and membership organizations. It offers centralized member demographic tracking, automated record management, contribution/financial reporting, and role-based access control (RBAC). The system architecture is built on a decoupled stack utilizing Node.js, React, and PostgreSQL/Supabase to ensure secure, real-time data flow.

Lastly, I've developed a WhatsApp Event Booking & Ticketing System. This platform is tailored for users who predominantly interact with mobile screens, specifically through WhatsApp. Its core functionalities include streamlining ticket discovery, reservation, and instant QR verification via automated chat workflows. The architecture relies on lightweight webhook structures, real-time database synchronization, and cloud edge infrastructure to achieve near-zero latency ticketing.

Whatโ€™s next for me? I'm currently concentrating on enhancing my skills in distributed database performance using Redis and PostgreSQL caching strategies. Additionally, I'm exploring event-driven backend microservices and contributing to open-source developer toolkits. You can explore my projects on GitHub (github.com/eugine-weks) and connect with me on LinkedIn for further interactions.

Migrating my portfolio from Next.js + Sanity to Astro 5

Originally published on ercan-atak.de . I moved my portfolio from Next.js 14 + Sanity to a static Astro 5 site, and the short version is: the new site ships almost no JavaScript, has no external CMSโ€ฆ

  • Content moved from Sanity dataset to MDX and JSON files in the repository for build-time validation.
  • Static Astro 5 site ships almost no JavaScript, improves GDPR compliance, and has fewer legal risks.
